Selective clearing
Keep the mature trees worth keeping. Losing them is the one mistake you cannot undo.
Everything hauled
Brush chipped, logs removed, debris taken away. No burn pile left for you to deal with.
Builder-ready finish
Stumps ground out and the ground left graded and workable for the trade coming after us.
Land Clearing in Buffalo & Western New York
Whether it is a building lot that has grown in over a decade, a back acre lost to buckthorn and wild grape, or a fence line you can no longer walk, clearing land is heavier work than it looks. Buried stumps, hidden debris, wet ground and property lines all need sorting out before a machine starts moving.
Strong Oak handles clearing from a single overgrown corner up to multi-acre lots. We can take everything down to bare ground for a builder, or clear selectively — pulling the invasives and scrub while keeping the healthy mature trees that give a property its character and its value. That second option is usually the better one, and it is the one most contractors never offer.

Brush and saplings steadily taking over the back of the property
A fence line you can no longer reach to repair or replace
Invasive species crowding out the trees you actually want

Land Clearing: common questions
By what is actually on the ground and how hard it is to reach, not by the acre alone. Dense mature woods cost far more per acre than light scrub; wet ground, steep slopes, buried debris and long haul distances all add to it. We walk the site, agree exactly what stays and what goes, and give you a written price for that scope.
It depends on the municipality and the site. Clearing tied to construction usually falls under the building permit. Wetlands, steep slopes, drainage courses and protected areas carry additional restrictions, and some towns in Erie County have their own clearing ordinances. We will flag anything we can see during the estimate, but confirming the permit requirements for a specific parcel is between you and your town — we are glad to help you ask the right questions.
That is our preferred way to work. We mark the keepers with you before anything starts, keep machinery outside their root zones to avoid compaction, and clear by hand where we have to. It is worth doing properly: a healthy mature tree adds real value to a property and takes forty years to replace.
Brush is chipped on site, logs are hauled out, and non-organic debris goes to disposal. On larger rural jobs some owners prefer chips spread on trails or a log pile left for firewood — both are fine, just tell us at the estimate so we plan the work around it.
A small overgrown yard is a one-day job. A quarter-acre building lot typically runs two to four days including stump grinding. Multi-acre clearing is scheduled by the week. Ground conditions matter a great deal here — spring thaw and heavy rain can push a schedule, and we would rather wait than rut up your property.
